President Barack Obama says the nation has been distracted by scandals involving former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

He says the Trump administration is going to do the right thing and “take care of its own.”

“There’s a lot of noise going on right now, but it’s not as much of a distraction as some of the other things that are going on,” Obama said Thursday during a briefing with House Oversight and Government Reform Committee members in the Rose Garden of the White House.

Obama said the Trump White House is going “beyond the box” and will “do what is right and keep its promises.”

“We will keep working to get the economy moving and getting Americans back to work,” he said.

“But there are a lot going on in Washington right now that are not good for the country.”
